Welcome to K's Resort
Family-owned since 1968, K's Edgewater Resort is nestled on Hamlin Lake's Middle Bayou, five miles north of Ludington, in Michigan's lower peninsula. The sheltered bayou offers easy access to Hamlin Lake, which is located near the shore of Lake Michigan. K's features eight two-bedroom, one-bath housekeeping cottages with bayou frontage and lake views. We cater to families and fishers looking for a relaxing retreat that can be shared with friends. Our 2023 season begins May 6th and ends October 30.
The Lake
Hamlin Lake is one of Michigan's premier recreational lakes. At 5,000 acres, the lake is the state's largest man-made lake with a length of nearly 13 miles. It provides a variety of fishing habitats and species, including northern pike, bass, tiger musky, crappie, sunfish and perch. The northwestern shore of Lower Hamlin Lake features vast sand dunes providing sandy-bottom swimming and convenient, open-shoreline or anchored boat mooring. The lake feeds into nearby Lake Michigan, via the Sable River, at the lake-accessible Ludington State Park. Pristine state park land encompasses nearly the entire western shore of the lower lake. The "Crown Jewel" of Michigan's state parks offers extensive hiking/kayaking trails, kayak/boat rentals, a swimming beach with concession area, and Big Sable Point Lighthouse. The Hamlin Lake Dam, located inside the park, marks a unique historical feature regarding the lake's formation as an 1800s logging asset.

The Cottages
All cottages at K's have queen-size beds, fully furnished kitchens, cable TV, air-conditioning and wifi. The combination dining and living areas offer a queen-sized sleeper sofa. Each cottage has a spacious screened porch area and will comfortably sleep four adults or families of five. Guests bring their own linens, or we can provide them at an additional charge. We do have a "no pets" policy. The Grounds The grounds offer an outdoor play set, enclosed sandy beach area for the toddlers (Tadpole Beach) and a playground area with ample room for outdoor lawn sports. Our six-berth boat shelter can accommodate boats up to 20 feet and offers retractable charging cords and overnight lighting. Our break-wall can provide dockage for larger boats. Trailer parking and additional open boat dockage is available on-site. A fish cleaning station is located in the boathouse. The Bayou When not enjoying the lake, fish Middle Bayou from the resort grounds or explore the bayou's calm waters with our complimentary paddleboat or canoe. The Middle Bayou Bridge affords 10-feet of boat clearance for quick access to Hamlin Lake. The City Ludington is a classic Lake Michigan harbor town with a downtown boasting an array of dining, attractions, museums and shopping. Its Waterfront Park is situated among the city's marinas with a view of the car ferry dock. The park's five acres feature a large play area for children, historical bronze sculptures along its walking paths, and an amphitheater to showcase summer entertainment. |
